Finding Your Tribe
"Your friends are long-term adventures and are therefore perhaps the most significant thing you can do to add years to your life, and life to your years."
Watch the Ted Talk video here. (19 minutes)
To find the path to long life and health, Dan Buettner studies the world's "Blue Zones," communities whose elders live longer than anyone else on the planet.
What do these communities have in common?
They belong to the "right" tribe, i.e., they surround themselves with healthy, trustworthy people.
They put family first.
They belong to a faith-based community.
Eat mainly a plant-based diet.
Have the right outlook
They take the time to slow down.
They know their purpose.
Set up their lives so they are constantly nudged into activity.
