An Introduction to Virtual Reality and How It Can Support the Aging Population

CEO of Pathways, Barbara Burgess, predicts that VR is, “going to be applied in health care from child care to hospice and everywhere in between.” When it comes to hospice, Barbara perceives benefits in areas that include improved cognition and less pain. When she reflects on those with dementia, VR can provide opportunities to reminisce and reduce anxiety.

By the year 2020, experts predict the world-wide VR market in health care will reach $3.8 billion.
